Revere Traffic Commission approves nine parking orders

Other Committee · Meeting of September 17, 2026

Revere Traffic Commission approves nine parking and sign changes, defers school-lot dispute to School Committee. The commission unanimously added stop signs on Marshview Terrace and at Sewall and Bixby streets, created a handicapped parking space at 36 Oxford Park, and set 24-hour resident parking on Suffolk Avenue, all without opposition. Two further items, removing a parking restriction on Rossetti Street and tightening rules on commercial-vehicle parking, were sent to public hearing after members debated whether the trailer and truck ordinance would sweep in tradespeople's work vehicles.

School Committee representative Steven Demiamio told commissioners his board voted a conflicting 6 a.m.-to-6-p.m. school-lot parking restriction, versus the commission's own 6 a.m.-to-4-p.m. version, saying "we want what's best for our schools and our citizens." The commission's chairman said the School Committee's vote should control since the lots sit on school property, leaving enforcement unresolved.
